I left it till a few days before as usual and then had to rush through it. One hundred drawings are a lot to do when you are in a hurry. So a completely different approach was needed. What a great assignment it turned out to be. It is the only one I can clearly remember after all\u00a0these years. I learnt a lot then and it is an approach I sometimes still employ.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 330px;\">My other memory is that I think I was asked to leave about seven times. That in itself shows commitment from both staff and student.<br \/>\nI must have been quite un-teachable. They didn\u2019t see salvation in me and soon gave up.\u00a0So I was left to my own devices most of the time. Except one occasion they insisted I go down to the National Gallery and look at some proper art. I remember going.
